Big Day!

It was a big day here at La Casa del Moensi: someone here turned FIVE and started KINDERGARTEN!!!  Holy moly.

Jas worked from home so we could all drop her off together but it was rather anti-climactic: we pulled up to the school, the vice-principal opened up the door, and she hopped out saying "did you know that Frosty the Snowman ..." and she didn't look back.

There was a mix-up at the end of the day and she got dismissed with the wrong group, and it took me FORTY MINUTES to get her, but she was not at all phased.  She found one of my "mom friends" and chatted with her about her birthday and then gave her my cell phone number!  Thankfully the school is equipped with walkie-talkies and once they knew they were looking for a FEMALE Elliott, they were able to tell me where to find her.

At about 10:15, I looked at Talie and said, "so ... what now?" What are we going to do for 6 hours every day without our chatterbox Elliott?

E's favorite part about kindergarten is the "back path" where I pick her up.  Talie yells her name as soon as we pull into the neighborhood and then runs to meet her.  It is SO adorable.

She wanted to set up her desk at home so she could do her "homework."

This kid is SO anxious to read.  She loves school.  But she is WIPED.  It isn't all smiles and rainbows after school -- she is SO exhausted.  She's fallen asleep a few times during rest time at school.  Yes, my little anti-napper has been NAPPING.
