Kite Festival

It was a little TOO windy for the kite festival at Bose Park (ahem the parking lot at Bose).

Let's go flyyyyy a kite!!

Elliott was almost as airborne as the kites.  She was jumping around like a crazy person.

We love the weekends.

Sheep shearing festival

This sheep was so relaxed and happy to be getting a haircut.

E really liked the Border Collies herding the sheep and goats.

Any white horse is of course Max from Tangled.

Sleepy Hike

The first half of our hikes are at toddler speed so aren't a very good workout for us.  The second half tends to be regular speed -- with a thirty pound kid strapped to my back so it evens out.

I love my family

Random Fun

I can't keep track of all the funny things this kid comes up with -- she has a HUGE imagination.  Last night she put on a ballet show (in the buff) for a full half hour before bedtime.  Yesterday she told me she was going to marry Uncle Matt so she could have the same last name.  She clarified that today by saying when she grows up, she's going to become Ant Lindsay.  She digs her Uncle Matt.  She's also been working on her "jokes."  Her two favorites are: "What's brown and sticky? ... A stick!" and "What kind of fish has two knees? ... A two-knee fish!"  She follows up both jokes with: "NOW LAUGH!"  That's the funniest part of all.

The frog in the picture was crying so she brought it over to get a kiss from Uncle Matt ...

Room for one more?  No?

"Yook, Mom!  I have BOOBS!"

Jas made a sandbox for her -- she has spent HOURS under there digging and sifting and playing. Oh, and the other day, she was walking backwards and fell into that orange bucket there -- it was FILLED with cold, muddy rain water.  Poor thing.  We could have submitted a video to AFV if I had been recording at the time.

This poor dog would rather put up with this type of play than be by herself in the other room.

Fake napping

She hasn't napped for real since Christmas but she still likes to pretend.

Doodie Dog

Elliott has started calling Scout "Doodie Dog" ...

Petting Zoo

There is a traveling petting zoo set up near the library in town -- it turned out to be a lot of fun.  Elliott even went on a pony ride!  What a big girl.

"Give me some snacks! Give!"

This is Mini Max (named after the horse in "Tangled")

Heat wave!

The unseasonably warm weather continued all week -- we broke out splash pools, bathing suits and water tables.  This has been the best April EVER.

We were having a picnic snack.  Can you tell?

It was a little bit cooler today but we were still on the swings all morning.

Waking "Princess Daddy" with a kiss.  Yes, he was actually asleep.

Helping Daddy fill the water table is SERIOUS BUSINESS.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I was also wearing a green shirt.

First time wearing a bikini.  She wasn't a fan.

Marathon Monday

It was insanely hot this year for the Boston Marathon.  We went in to a cookout at mile 24 and it was ... hot.  We spotted our friend, Jon (still running!  Way to go, Jon!) and Uncle Matt gave Elliott her new favorite toy -- a water gun. Call me crazy but Marathon Monday is one of the easiest days to drive into te city -- we parked about a block and a half away from the route.

As we were cheering the runners on, a friend told Elliott she needed to cheer louder so  people could hear her.  So she started yelling "LOUDER!" at the runners.  Ha!

Egg Hunt

We had another successful annual egg hunt with friends again this year.

Gotta love those baggy ankles ...

Why is it always MY kid that refuses to participate in the group photo?
