A post for my BROTHER

Today we have an extra special blog post for my brother. Here is what he has to say:

...

Stop blogging
It’s depressing
Blog pictures of Albany NY and say it’s Hawaii

Instead of waterfalls I want to see sewage
Some weird ugly dog instead of Scout

Maybe a stray cat with three legs

Maybe a lizard but not the cute kind

Instead of pictures of Jason, instead the guy from mask

San Fran

And he's off! Jason is at "headquarters" in San Fran this week.

Belated Anniversary Celebration

We headed over to Kauai this weekend to celebrate our anniversary -- VACATION! We stayed at the Grand Hyatt which has the world's best pool (according to I think TripAdvisor -- and Becca).

(not my photo)

Wailua River

We kayaked up the Wailua River and hiked into "Secret Falls" ... that aren't so secret when there are 5 tour groups there but it was still really fun and pretty.

Taro Fields on the Garden Isle

Crazy Caves

Lighthouse

Kipu Falls

We went down to Kipu Falls and spent some time playing on the rope swing! Adventure!

Jason flies!

Me too! Me too!

Then this guy jumped out of the TREE ...

Waimea Canyon

"The Grand Canyon of the Pacific"

Why does everything on Kauai have nicknames?

Moguls!

Traveling man ...

Jason is off to a conference in Vegas until Wednesday -- then we go to Kauai next weekend (YAY!) and then he goes to California for a meeting ... Then a few days after that, we head home to NY/Boston. He is going to be SO tired of airplanes ...

Warning: now comes the time where I am home alone and commence blogging about boring things like this: today I tried to take Scout and Buster for a walk -- which in and of itself wasn't a fantastic idea -- but I had to abort my dog-walking mission because we were being followed by the dog down the street. The same dog that got free a few weeks ago and followed Jason all the way into town and into some stores. I couldn't handle the two dogs I had on leashes, nevermind a third rambunctious puppy that was trying to play with Scout. So we came home. And the little pup followed. Then she skootched UNDER THE FENCE and was suddenly in the yard. This did NOT make Buster happy. In fact, it made him very angry. Long story short, I had to call the owners three times, tie up the dog out back and lock Buster upstairs.

Wow, I think I just bored myself to sleep ... Look for more boring stories coming soon!

VOG!

Typically, I can see the ocean, the "city" and the west Maui mountains on my drive down the hill. But the VOG (volcanic fog) was so bad today that it looked like this ... If you look carefully, you can see the very top of the mountains just to the left of the center ...

Bubbles!

Nothing more fun than making bubbles!

Auntie Bobbie's New Ride

Check out my Auntie Bobbie's new ride ... HOT ROD!

PS I think this is the official sign that is spring on the east coast ... am I right?

This is boring but ...

We noticed that some of the sugar cane harvesting fires were really close to the road and airport the other day ... turns out they weren't harvesting fires ...

Buster, the opera singing dog ...

Buster likes to impersonate ambulance sirens -- lucky for us, we live right next door to the ambulance station so we here this a lot ... too funny ...

Bih-ZAY!

This was a busy weekend for us -- it was MAPA's annual spring extravaganza -- think Deane dance recital x 12 -- we've got 500 dancers and 70+ classes a week so the Jazz, Tap and Hip Hop was on Saturday and Ballet was on Sunday. For a place that is half the size of Rhode Island and with fewer people than Worcester, we have some damn talented dancers. I'll see if we have any better photos from the office (man, I need to take some photography courses -- how on EARTH do you get a photo in focus when it is dark and the dancers are doing triple pirouettes?).

Singin' in the Rain:

MAPA Dance Ensemble:

Cats:

We also went to the Seabury Hall Craft Fair -- Seabury is the big private junior/high school in our town. They have this ha-YOOGE fair ever spring to benefit their scholarship fund. This was like the Mendon Country Fair on steroids -- it was insane!

Jason also went kiteboarding again and I have another cold ... that's what is going on in the world of the Moensi! COME VISIT! :o)

Perfect Thursday Evening

I read my book, Scout had a tennis ball and Jason went kiteboarding ... perfection.

Cast Party

We went to a cast party slash Cinquo de Mayo party in Haiku this weekend. The drive up to the house was this crazy twisty-turvy road -- and the view from the desk is unreal. It was raining, but you get the idea. If you look over the edge (not recommended after margaritas), you don't see lawn or anything ... you see the TOPS of trees. The gulch is that deep. And yes, the bathtub has running hot water ...

Launiupoko Park

We went out to the West side with all the kids this weekend. Robert brought a bunch of surf boards and I brought a lot of sunscreen (do I make too many lame jokes about being the whitest person on this island? Well, it's true.)

Sarala, Yasmina and Robert:

"I can help!"

Baby Sebastian. He liked me best of all the adults. How do I know? He peed on me. :o) Kids.

"I'm gonna wash that sand right outta my hair ..."

Aidan wears more sunscreen than even I do! This kid has THE most gorgeous eyelashes I have ever seen.

Sooooooo sleepy ...
