Jupiter!

E had a few days off of school for the Jewish holidays so we took a trip down to Florida to visit Auntie Lauren and "The Greats." These two girls are such great travelers -- and swimmers.  We packed an awful lot into a long weekend.  It was fun to see Talie there because the last time we went, it was just me and Elliott and she was the exact age Talie is now!  It has been FAR too long since we've been to Florida!

Talie was a little rambunctious on the plane.  We walked the aisles a LOT. But this was our last opportunity to have an under 2 "lap baby" so it was worth it.

We visited with Great Grammie almost every day.  Katy the kitty did not come out once.

Oh Thomas, I've known you forever, right?  Hugging in photos shouldn't be awkward.  Oh, I just met you?  Yeah, this is weird.

These girls are expert travelers.  5am wakeup call to head to the airport?  No problem!

Sooooo tired.  That.  Was a BUSY weekend.

Splash park! Splash park!

All Elliott wanted to do was go to the splash park in Lauren's neighborhood.  It did not disappoint.

Three hours with kids and these two wimps needed naps.

Someone has grown.  Comparison here.

It was pouring, but T didn't care.

Water babies

Naked baby on the beach!

Elliott knows how to vacation.

Yeah, we're nerds.

Talie has NO FEAR.  They were almost clobbered by several big waves but she didn't mind at all.

"More wah-wah!"

Busy weekend!

Don and Babsie have the most hyper dog I've ever seen.  And our girls chased her around until they were all exhausted.  Peanut!!! I think this is the only photo I got of Great Donny.  Hi Great Donny!

E insisted they each hold onto a Frozen doll while they watched the movie.

Naptime.

Sleepover party!

Expert coloring advice.  My grandmother is an extremely talented painter.  She pulled out some coloring pages for E to play with while we visited.  Still no luck getting Katy the kitty out from under the bed.

Great Grammie has this amazing scrapbook of all the letters and cards we sent to them when we were kids as well as several old newspaper clippings.  This is me circa 1983 (aka Talie with severe bangs) and Sue-Sue, who is currently in the soft friend bucket in Elliott's room.
It took about 24 hours, but Elliott is Thomas' biggest fan.  She challenged him to a cannonball competition. I think he won.

Legos.

How sweet is this?  And how funny is Talie in her "boat?"
Babsie babysat for the girls so we could have a date night with Lauren and Thomas.  We tried to get a nice sister picture but instead, Jas did a rapid fire blurry photo shoot. There were about 40 of them.

T got cold in the wee hours of the morning and when Babsie picked her up, she just snuggled into her shoulder and went back to sleep.  So Babsie got back into bed!  This is how Elliott found them in the morning.  SO SWEET.

September stuff

I've been terrible about updating this blog ]['[=]+:"=];';=]l];l];]=:+}>  (that was Talie saying hi -- she loves to press buttons and got mad at me when I wasn't showing her pictures anymore). Anyhow, I've been terrible about updating the blog regularly so here's another wrap up of several funny things.

  • Elliott asked Jas the other night how hot the sun was. She then informed him that she loves him two times the size of the sun. :o)
  • She has been SO TIRED after school that she has slept in her clothes several nights.  It's a pick-your-battles approach I'm taking and it is working.  She still brushes her teeth.
  • I love the days she picks out her own clothes.  She is a big fan of contrasting patterns and mixing characters.  She loves her Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles tshirt the best.
  • Elliott has informed me that she wants to be a boy so she can be Spiderman for Halloween. I told her she can be whatever she wants so Target, here I come. And she wants Talie to be Superman. Of course this revelation comes AFTER I've already purchased the matching Frozen costumes.
  • Lest you think it is all sunshine and hilarity here, I assure you we have our grumpy times.  Talie for example is yelling at me right now.  The other night, Elliott whined about how STARVING she was while I was cooking dinner (as if she hadn't eaten since last week) then refused to eat the "disgusting" dinner. Teething toddlers and exhausted kindergartners are really hard work. I just don't take pictures of them when they're not being funny.
  • Jas went to put on his shoes the other morning and Talie waddled over, pulled on his leg and said: "No. No Bye Daddy." sniffle
  • T was climbing (as always) on the ottoman the other night and Jas told her to get down. She said, "OK, I do!" and climbed down.

Talie has insisted on inheriting my White Teddy.

Early morning acro yoga class.

Yes, that's a drill.  A kid drill, but still, a drill.
