New Discoveries

Now that she's mobile, Elliott has discovered all the best "toys" in the house.

"Yo, Ma, where's the US Weekly?"

"Mmmmmm Roomba!!!"

First she tried to pull the tray off the ottoman. Then after I moved it, she decided she wanted to play in it.

NOT a fan of Buddah.

Mmmmm delicious Swiffer.

Too close for comfort? No such thing for these two.

Have I mentioned ...

... that Scout is the best dog ever?

Weekend Update

A whole new world has opened up to Elliott now that she has learned how to crawl. She is still a little slow and wobbly because she is using her left foot instead of her knee, but she gets it. She can crawl.

And that means she can reach the bookshelf.

Notice the Cheerios on Scout's head:

Grabby Grabberson took Uncle Brother's remote. Then she hacked Pappy's XBox account.

She loves water. She starts swimming lessons in July! Oh, Scout also likes water. To drink it.

She crawls!

I spoke too soon! Jay "The Baby Whisperer" used his phone to encourage her to crawl! We are entering a whole new world of trouble ...

Elliott entertains herself by ...

... emptying Mommy's sock drawer:

... holding court with her stuffed animals (and Scout):

... kissing her own reflection in the fridge:

HA! The fridge kissing cracked me up.

Massaro Date

Playdate with the Massaro boys (and their mom!)!

New Tricks Illustrated by Photos

A non-photo post about Elliott's recent tricks:

  • Her first tooth arrived last week! I imagine there are more on the way so goodbye sleep!
  • I've been working on a bunch of sign language like "more," "sleepy," "nurse" and "all done" but so far, she hasn't really made signs any herself. I think she understands "hungry."
  • She totally responds to her Daddy's tricks. She now knows how to "clap hands," raise her arms up when he asks "how big is Elliott?" and flip up her palms when he says "I don't know!" If in the right mood, she'll wave hello and sometimes she says "HIIIIIIIIII" when I go in to get her after her nap. Oh, Jas also taught her to stick her feet into his face when he asks "Where are your stinky feet?"
  • No crawling yet (although Grammy was working with her this weekend by placing Cheerios juuuust out of reach) but she pulls herself up on anything she can reach (including Scout) and walks herself across the room if possible.
  • She'll eat anything I give her. Including the mail. She still loves sweet potatoes the best but Cheerios are a close second.
  • Her favorite books are by Sandra Boynton (because they're my favorite ones to read over and over and over and over ...) and her favorite songs are "Three Green and Spreckled Frogs" and "I've Been Working on the Railroad." She likes "This Little Piggy" but not "The Itsy Bitsy Spider." Her favorite game this week is to take every toy out of the container one at a time, look at it for a moment, shake it violently and then throw it over her shoulder.
Any questions? :o)

Moms' Night Out

Success! We've been meaning to do a Moms' Night Out since we met in September and we finally did it! We closed the restaurant and spent as much money on wine as we did on food. Turns out we're really good at Moms' Night Out ...
