Memorial Day Weekend

My friend had a big huge block party and we did some gardening.

They traced each other with chalk.  Pretty good, huh?

Sing-along

Elliott's school had a sing-along concert in the cafeteria.  I can't get "Achin' Drum" out of my head -- mainly because E sings it about 14 times a day.  I LOVE her preschool.  They are growing marigolds, hatched butterflies, and do so many fun art projects.  I'm amazed at how quickly she has learned all of her letters and numbers -- and sees learning as fun!  She's made tons of friends and absolutely loves everything about school.  They had a big raffle recently and I won a pass to an indoor playground -- my friend won front row tickets to ... the sing-along.  Hee hee.  It was adorable.

This is the face she makes when she goes to school, comes home from school, or talks about school.  I love it.

Haircut!

It had to be done.

The aftermath ...

Natalie was up virtually every hour all weekend long and Elliott was too busy talking to her cousin Mia to be bothered to sleep at Nana's house.  So this is what our house looked like at 8:30am today.

Nana's house

Elliott got to have an extended visit in Rockaway while we were in PA.  They hit the Bronx Zoo one day and she constantly talks about the "terrible storm that broke the boardwalk."

"NANA!  I have to tell you a SECRET!"

13th Birthday

We celebrated Lindsay's birthday like it was 1993 -- with fluorescent clothing at an amusement park.  I LOVE roller coasters.  No seriously -- I love them.  If I get to do 2 or 3 rides on a roller coaster, it is worth the price of admission.  Matt doesn't feel the same ...

Amusement parks are exhausting.

Catruso Wedding

Natalie took her first plane ride to PA and hung out like a rock star at Carly and Wade's wedding in PA.  It was a perfect day for a creek-side BBQ -- the band was fantastic and we got to see Uncle Matt and Ant Lindsay!

Packing for a weekend with a baby is hard.  I overpacked AND underpacked.  And forgot my camera so some of these are courtesy of my friend Mindy.

Natalie made it through about half of the ceremony and needed a nap.  Matt looks uncomfortable because as we were taking this photo we realized it looked like I was nursing her.

Crazy professor baby

First time swimming.  APPROVED.
Showing off her sitting skillz.
I think it is time for a hair cut ...
We stayed an extra day in PA with Lindsay's family so we could get some extra time with M&L.

Gardening

We did our annual gardening adventure again -- I know nothing about gardening so I let my mom make all the decisions.  I was left unsupervised with some clippers the other day and I don't even want to talk about the stumps that are former yew bushes out front.

Elliott stepped on the hose and got a HUGE spray in the face.  It was so funny that she forgot to cry.  She then decided that she would be in charge of all the water projects.

Tah-DAH!

Happy Mother's Day!

Elliott was very excited to make me Mother's Day Pizza ALL BY HERSELF.

Me and my mom circa 1980.
