Everybody in the POOL!

New pool!  Just in time for more 90 degree weather!

The more the merrier!

No really -- EVERYBODY in the pool.

Shenanigans

This toy looked like a good idea at the store ... but then she figured out how to work it!

She kept insisting I take a picture of her and Dee Dee but then she wouldn't look at the camera!

... unless it was for a funny photo.

Just hangin' out in Scout's bed.

Saturdays are the best.

Walden Pond

Jas is heading to Spain again so he took Friday afternoon off to hang with the girls at Walden Pond before he left.  Elliott slept until 8am this morning.  Swimming is exhausting.
We couldn't convince her to take her Crocs off.

Feeling Hot Hot Hot!

We've been having an official heat wave here -- three days of 90+ temps.  In fact, I think it has been 3 days of 95+.  It's hot. We tried to go to the park for a playdate but a) no one else showed up and b) everything was too hot to touch.  So we came home and played with the water table but even soaking wet in the shade, it was too hot to be outside for the whole afternoon.

She loves it when her magazine comes in the mail.

The hose attachment is stuck so we couldn't get the sprinkler going -- instead, we just made an outdoor shower.

This was more fun than going to the gym.  Sometimes you just have to drop everything and color.

Constant Stream of Nonesense

Elliott continues to talk for 13 hours a day.  Right now her favorite question is "Why?" and she has worked Matt and/or Lindsay into every single conversation for the last three days.  Tonight she was very concerned that they were going to get wet in the rain.  Yesterday she wouldn't eat her lunch because she was going to share it with Matt.  Luckily they are coming over tomorrow so she'll get her Flahuvan fix.

Here are some of the more entertaining tidbits that have come out of this kid recently:
  • "Mommy, what's this?"
    "Daddy's bathing suit."
    "Why?"
    "That doesn't make any sense."
    "What doesn't make any sense?"
    "Your question."
"Why doesn't my question make any sense?"
"Well because Daddy's bathing suit is ... it's just Daddy's bathing suit."
    "But WHY?"
  • When we were in the hotel last weekend, Jas sneezed early one morning and Elliott, mostly asleep from the other bed, whispered: "Bless me."
  • "Daddy.  Belle changed her mind and wants to marry Gaston and not marry the Beast."
  • Post-bath babble about everyone's jobs: "Mommy takes care of Elliott and Dee Dee takes care of old people and I take care of Mommy and Daddy takes care of computers."
  • "For my birthday, I want Santa to bring me TWO presents: a smile for my baby and a smile for me."  Consider it done, kid.
  • In a slightly frantic voice: "When I grow up, I have to find a Daddy to marry!"
  • She LOVES to talk to (and tickle) the baby in Mommy's belly.  The other day, she leaned in, kissed it several times and told this story: "Once upon a time ... there was a baby named you."  She later asked if once the baby was done in my belly if it would come out of my belly button.  I'm all for honesty, but she's two -- she doesn't need to know about the birthing process just yet.  So I said yes.  I'll go put a quarter into the future therapy fund piggy bank.
  • "Mom, I totally want to stay in my jammies."
  • ‎"Mommy, I hear the baby crying. She wants you to take your shirt off so she can see me."

Drum Roll Please!

I know I posted it to facebook but I think I forgot to share here ...

Break out the pink because Jeremy "Jeremy" is a girl!  I'd post a picture of the ultrasound but it is awkward enough having that money shot on the fridge -- I don't need to put it all over the internet.

Time to pull out all of Elliott's old clothes and set up a baby room!  Commence nesting!

The Day After ...

This exhausted kid slept until past 8:30 this morning and then spent half an hour pouring over the map of Sesame Place telling me about her favorite things and the things she was "not interested in."

Father's Day

We let Elliott pick out gifts for both Mother's Day and Father's Day this year.  I got Beauty and the Beast on DVD (how did she KNOW?) and Jas got toddler golf clubs.  Ha!  She's so thoughtful, isn't she?  :o)

Sesame Place!

Our second annual trip to Sesame Place was a huge success.  I think Jas and I had almost as much fun as Elliott.  It's just such a great trip -- the travel down to PA isn't terrible, staying in a hotel is fun, she is an absolute blast and was super well behaved ... it is just a blast.  Once the kids went to bed, we had our grown-up hallway parties -- complete with snacks, baby monitors, beer and O'Doule's.

She talked a lot of talk about the roller coaster but we couldn't convince her to actually get on it ...

One of the favorite attractions ... the cool water mister.

"Hi geese!  How's your day?"

Apparently the music at the parade was a little too loud.

Raspberry kisses for Daddy

First in line! Nerds!

Flying!

Travel and hotel fun

Elliott slept in a big giant bed (with pool noodles under the sheets to keep her from rolling off) and she slept like a rock star.  Somehow, she stayed awake for the entire car trip down to PA and only fell asleep on the way home when we were about 20 minutes from home.  Jas wins the award for most patient chauffeur because between the toddler and the pregnant lady, we had to stop at virtually every public restroom along the highway on the way home.

She's getting so BIG!

Who needs toys?

We all scream for ice cream!

Drinking up every last drop!

Water Park!

For the second year in a row, we had PERFECT weather and were able to spend lots of time in the water parks at Sesame Place.  Our kid digs anything to do with water.

Character Breakfast

Little Miss Morning Calories needed some convincing but she eventually warmed up to the Sesame Street characters ... most of them anyhow.

She tolerated a high five but then wanted The Count to leave.  When he wouldn't ...

... she asked Amy to help her move her breakfast down the table because "I don't yike that guy."
So The Count hung out with the other kids.

Murray couldn't leave -- Jakey wouldn't let him.

All five kids tickle Zoe!

Once breakfast cleared out, she had a few more bites of oatmeal and we were the only family left, she was convinced to go say hello to Elmo.
