| Remember this? Natalie is a whole lot bigger than Elliott was. This is N at 2.5 months whereas the other photo is E at 4 months! |
 |
| "I''m feeding my baby." |
 |
| I only have eyes for Mommy ... (see me in her eyes?) |
 |
| "I'm cleaning these floors for you Mommy so you don't have to!" She's using a chalkboard eraser ... |
 |
| Wicked Witch of the East? Elliott has been ... shall we say ... difficult? Recently it has been Dr. Jekyll, Little Miss Hyde here. Normal 3 year old behavior and normal new sibling in the house behavior but MAN it can be exhausting! |
Some recent funnies etc.:
- The other afternoon, Elliott leaned over to Natalie and whispered, "Hey Natalie, guess what? I love you." Her eyes never left Sesame Street but it was still very sweet.
- Elliott took no less than 25 self portraits with my phone the other day ... while I was in the shower in the background. DELETE ALL! DELETE ALL!
- Me: Elliott, fingers out of your nose please.
Elliott: But Mom! Did you know that I can touch my BRAIN?!?
- Auntie Lauren: "what do you like to do around the holidays?"
Elliott: "well, personally I like to stay indoors."
- "Um ... no Mommy. I'm not available. I have to be Queen of Machu Picchu."
- I recently asked Elliott to grab me a tissue and she pulled one out of her sleeve. Three going on 83?
- "Mom? Can we bring Scout back to the store and get a cat?" GASP! NO!!!!!!
- I asked my mom to please be sure to put the cap back on the orange juice because I shook it and it sprayed all over the kitchen. Elliott then suggested that maybe next time I shouldn't shake it.
- Jas really likes to go out to breakfast on the weekends -- one Saturday a while back, Elliott got up SUPER early and he gave her the choice of going out to breakfast with just him or going back to bed until the sunshine came out (my rule -- I do not go downstairs while it is still dark out). She opted to "stay in bed so Mommy will come to breakfast, too."
- When we were talking about names for Natalie (before she arrived), my mom suggested we name her after one of the stepsisters in Cinderella. Elliott was appalled: "No Dee Dee! Those are the BAD GIRLS!"
- Have I mentioned Brown Language yet? He's Elliott's imaginary friend. Jas' mother and grandfather got a huge kick out of this and so "Brown Language" called Elliott and invited her over to visit. Since then, she keeps asking if we can go to the neighbor's house to see if Brown Language is home. She even had Nana walk her over to the driveway to see if anyone was home.
- "Did you see those two trucks? They totally made me FREAK OUT."
- At lunch recently, she was talking complete nonsense and made me laugh so hard I cried. Then she looked at me very seriously and said, "Mommy, don't hurt yourself." Which just made me laugh harder.
Man, that kid is funny.
